Mark Cadwallader   

Mark Cadwallader BSc ACA

Son of the late Frank Cadwallader, the firm's founder, Mark qualified in 1987 at London Practice Begbies, having previously graduated from London University. A partner since 1991, Mark acts for a wide range of clients, including farming clients and professional Practices, but also specialises in specific areas of business development advice.

Support Team -
Mark works closely with qualified accountants and managers Paul Chapman and Richard Dainty and his support team is made up mainly of three staff members with many years' experience in accounts preparation within the office, being his brother John Cadwallader, who is a part-qualified Chartered Accountant, Ian Howells, Carolyn Evans and Claire Abel, as well as additional team member Georgia Laflain.

Emlyn Thomas   

Emlyn Thomas BA FCA CTA

Brought up in Aberystwyth, a graduate of Manchester University. Qualified at Touche Ross in 1985 and worked in their tax department until joining Cadwallader & Co LLP. He is a Chartered Taxation Adviser and became a partner in 1991, dealing mainly with farming clients. He is Welsh speaking.

Support Team -
The support team for Emlyn Thomas includes Gareth Jones, Alun Evans, Helen Peate and Nicola Davies, who have had many years' experience in preparing farm accounts, as well as additional team members, Katie Jones and Chloe Davies.

Ian Burley   

Ian Burley BSc FCA

A graduate of Birmingham University, Ian joined the firm in 1992 having previously qualified at Alan Turner & Co, in Shrewsbury.

He became a partner in 1993 and is responsible for an increasing number of limited companies as well as many of our small business clients.

Support Team -
The support team for Ian Burley includes Paul Chapman, qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, Lucy Bumford and Janet Morris.

Nigel Hughes   

Nigel Hughes FCCA

From Llandyssil, with family farming connections, Nigel qualified as a Chartered Certified Acountant in 1997 and joined the firm shortly thereafter. Nigel became a partner in 2006 and has now taken on the responsibility of dealing with the farming clients previously dealt with by Hugh Tombs and Ian Burley.

Nigel also continues to be involved with the setting up of computerised accounting systems as well as regular management accounts preparation for some clients, supported by Sharon Davies and Paul Chapman.

Support Team -
Nigel’s support team includes Ruth Stephens and Fay Williams who have many years’ experience in preparing farm accounts, together with Lucy Mason who deals with non-farming clients and Sage computer systems.

Sharon Davies

  

Sharon Davies ACA

Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2007, Sharon joined the firm in 2010 and became a partner in the practice in April 2017. She works in our Farming Division and is responsible for her own portfolio of clients, working closely with Emlyn Thomas.

Sharon lives on an organic hill farm near Tregynon and regularly helps her husband with their flock of Pedigree Blue Faced Leicester sheep and herd of Hereford cattle which gives her an insight into the demands of modern day farming businesses.

Simon Rivara

Simon Rivara BSc (Hons) FCCA CTA

Simon resides in Shrewsbury but is originally from Abermule.  An Aston University graduate who spent his placement year at Cadwallader & Co, Simon qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2002 and later became a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2005.

Simon brings a breadth of tax knowledge and experience having joined the firm in May 2019 to work closely with our other Business Division Partners, Mark Cadwallader and Ian Burley alongside the rest of the Business Team.  Over his 20+ year career, Simon has worked in all areas of taxation but has a particular expertise in advising clients on corporation tax matters, having worked as a CT Specialist for one of the large national accounting firms for over 11 years.

More recently Simon has worked in industry for a global energy management company within their Tax & Treasury team, so has gained significant commercial experience to supplement his accountancy and tax knowledge.

Simon also leads our payroll team, working closely with Dawn Evans.

Managers

Paul Chapman   

Paul Chapman BSc ACCA

Paul graduated from Staffordshire University with a degree in Biology and Geography in 2001 and joined the firm later that year.

He qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2014 and deals with a range of clients, although mainly limited companies, as well as providing management accounts.

Richard Dainty

 Richard Dainty ACCA

Qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2009, Richard joined the firm in 2018 with over 22 years accountancy experience.

Richard works closely with a number of Sole Trader, Partnership and Limited Company clients assisting and advising them on all accountancy and taxation matters.

Working alongside Mark Cadwallader in the business division Richard brings with him a comprehensive knowledge of several bookkeeping packages including Sage, Xero, Quickbooks and FreeAgent.
